Our Mission

The mission of the Cross Community Coalition is to engage residents in the Elyria, Swansea and Globeville and other surrounding neighborhoods:

• to work together to create positive social and economic change
• to provide opportunities for individual and family achievement and
• to improve the quality of life for all residents.

Our History 

Founded in 1987 by neighborhood activists brought together by Lorraine Granado, the Coalition has maintained its focus on working together for positive change, providing opportunities for individual achievement, and improving the quality of life for all residents in our communities.  Early concerns included positive activities for youth, improving services in the community, and dealing with health dangers of toxic pollution form industry and highway traffic.

From a single storefront unit opened in 1992 to our current spacious and beautiful Family Resource Center facility completed in October 2005, we have been responding to the needs of families in Elyria, Swansea, Globeville and nearby communities with a wide range of programs and services.

Committed to linking people to services that support positive change, we joined the Family to Family Denver collaborative in 2005.
